2/3 December 06 - Ten Tors Weekend

Quite a hectic weekend for us. TV company here riding on Saturday as Xmas bash with unusually, a lady who'd never ridden AND couldn't drive a car, having to learn how to ride a geared bike!! She was somewhat worried, but as we explained, the bike stops your knees knocking together.. Additional riders also here preparing for Ten Tors (an organised road trial event). Part of the course included a section on our indoor junior arena, and a special test on the main circuit. Obviously, our riders shone at these two disciplines due to the preparation the day before!! (But the hill climb at Pinny's Wood caught them out).

30 November 06 - Corporate Training Evening

A local expert rider organised an End-of-Year "Thank You" event for all the people that helped him throughout the year. Big grins all round and curry and beer went down well afterwards too!

14 November 06 - Junior Training Evening

Still a relatively new idea is evening training for local junior riders. This was well attended again, and parents are keen that it sustains the interest/progress of the youngsters (and keeps them away from the PS2 for an hour or three!).

9 November 06 - New Format ½ Day ORE

At the request of a local group, we arranged a ½ day Off Road Experience for a group of 9 motorcycling hill climbers. They all adapted really well as they all use similar motorcycles for their hill climbing. ½ day with lunch worked really well.

7 November 06 - Club Training Starts

South Darmoor MX Club kicked off the club training evenings with a group of 16 riders! 3 groups of adults and 1 group of teens all riding 250cc 4-strokes, all trying to improve on their lap times/lines around the circuit. Rider of the evening was obviously a teenager!

2-5 November 06 - The Vikings Are Here!

A group of overseas visitors had a fantastic time on a new structured event where, weather permitted and we used our local Motocross circuit for the second day trying out the range of motorcycles.

1st November 06 - New Website: wheeldontwo.co.uk

It’s been a while since the website was functioning as we (and indeed you) wanted. It’s here now. We’re pleased with the way it looks and hope that, after some time exploring, you’ll agree that it covers everything you need to find. Please drop us a line, and let us know what you think, is anything missing?

15th October 06 - Rabjohns Annual Visit

Once again, our friendly firefighters from Kent descended upon us, in force to test the bikes and their own ability to improve on previous years’ riding skills. Fun and frolics were had. Sadly, our Wheeldon Farm sign disappeared, along with a chair! The resultant piccies of said chair and sign on their holidays at all the top spots in London made everybody chuckle! The items returned by courier with the photos!

11th October 06 - Junior Training Evening – YIP

Torbay Council’s Youth Inclusion Programme came along for their second (in a rolling programme) evening training session with half a dozen young people. These are such a huge success that the Youth workers accompanying them want to ride the circuit before the children!

29th September 06 - Off Road Academy Weekend

Completely by accident, no planning or forethought, this weekend turned into a couples weekend with 4 couples getting down and dirty on the green laning on Sunday (somewhat inclement weather!) Again, a huge success!!

21st September 06 - Icelandic Finance Company

This weekend, a regular visitor of ours brought with him a team from a Finance company for their end-of-year corporate “Thank you”. Complete novices with experienced riders made for a interesting mix and a busy but successful couple of days – they’ll be back! The biggest restaurant bill at the Avon Inn, and similarly the Watermans Arms didn’t know what had hit them!
